FEATURED PRESENTATION:

Post Judgment Collection: A Practical Guide

This program will describe and explain the available methods for judgment enforcement and collection and defenses thereto. The most common forms, procedures, and issues that arise in garnishment will be examined in detail with tips for how these issues should be handled by practitioners. Florida Rules of Civil Procedure related to post executions of judgments, Florida Statute Chapters 222 and 77 and various cases will be discussed and explained.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

Judge James Giardina

Prior to taking the bench, James Giardina practiced in the areas of consumer finance litigation, including debt collection, contract defense, garnishment, and consumer protection. He handled hundreds of post-judgment actions, as well as various State and Federal consumer protection statutes and class actions. He authored or substantially contributed to multiple publications on behalf of the Florida Bar Consumer Protection Law Committee, and was a frequent speaker on local television and radio regarding discussions of various consumer law issues. He was named a Rising Star and a Top Rated Consumer Attorney by Super Lawyers, rated AV preeminent by Martindale Hubbell, and a member of the Million-Dollar Advocates Forum. He has served on the Ethics Committee of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, the chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Bar Leadership Institute and was frequently recognized by the Supreme Court of Florida for exceptional pro bono service.
