Claire Saady


Claire will be speaking on the topic: Employment Law

CLAIRE SAADY is a partner in the office of Saady & Saxe, P.A., practicing in the area of employment law. Ms. Saady was formerly a partner in the New York City office of Haight, Gardner, Poor & Havens (now known as Holland & Knight). She has been an Adjunct Professor at Stetson Law School, Brooklyn Law School and Hofstra Law School, teaching employment law. She has also served as a Special Master in Federal Court. She is licensed to practice in Florida and New York.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

Ms. Saady has over twenty-five years of experience primarily devoted to advising and representing clients concerning Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. She also has extensive experience in counseling corporate clients on compliance with the various state and federal laws concerning employment-related issues including sexual harassment, wage and hour and covenants not-to-compete. She also drafts and negotiates employment agreements in connection with mergers and acquisitions. In her most recent corporate deal, she represented the co-founder of NEST when GOOGLE acquired that company.

LECTURES/PUBLICATIONS

Ms. Saady is a frequent speaker and writer on all aspects of employment law, including sexual harassment, Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the applicability of U.S. laws to foreign clients conducting business in the U.S. She has been published in the National Law Journal, Metropolitan Corporate Counsel, Connecticut Maritime Association Newsletter, Manufacturer's Monthly, Florida Medical Business Journal, and foreign publications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ms. Saady has a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY at Stony Brook. She thereafter attended Western New England Law School, where she clerked for Superior Court Judge Keedy, was a member of the Law Review, and participated in the American Trial Lawyers Association trial competition.

In connection with her representation of clients, Ms. Saady has appeared before the EEOC and various state administrative agencies, as well as state and federal courts throughout the United States including but not limited to New York, Florida, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Washington state, Washington, D.C., California, Illinois, Delaware, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Please note NTBA only accepts advance credit card payments for the luncheons.  Registration for the luncheon closes at noon the day prior to the luncheon.
